Enterprise Phone Systems

Until recently this type of technology, used by many major corporates, has been too expensive or unavailable for most small to mid-sized businesses.

As a managed service, the M5 IP Phone Systems allows small to mid-sized businesses to operate a big business phone system without the big business price tag.

Why have large businesses around the world moved to IP phone systems?
IP telephone systems make up the majority of new phone systems purchased in the United States. According to technology research group IDC (BRW July 2005), here in Australia 25% of new phone systems sold to medium and large business are IP based, a figure that has grown more than 100% in the past 12 months.

Australian businesses such as Westpac, IBM Australia, Seven Network, Mallesons, Freehills, Woodside and Lend Lease to name a few have made the move. The government sector, including the Victorian and ACT governments, has seen significant uptake with many Federal government departments making the move.

So why the change from traditional systems? Simply - lower costs to operate and maintain, lower call costs and significant increases in flexibility. The move to IP phone systems allows for a single simplified telecommunications infrastructure to deliver all telecommunications needs. Reduced cabling costs, reduced costs for moves adds and changes, easier administration and removed capacity hurdles account for most of the lower costs.

Integrated connections to the PSTN (Public Switched Telephone Network) allow large businesses to use least cost routing to reduce phone bills. For example, landing calls from the Sydney office through the Melbourne PSTN connection as a local call rather than STD. Further, this integration of services allows large organisations much greater bargaining power with telecommunications providers for the cost of calls.

IP phone systems are considerably more flexible than traditional phone systems, with many of the optional features of traditional systems such as advanced voicemail, conference calling and IVR (Interactive Voice Response) systems provided as standard. Further, IP systems allow for the integration of desktop systems such as Microsoft Outlook(tm) with the phone system, which means large businesses can better streamline their business processes.

The M5 IP Phone System allows small and mid-sized businesses to take advantage of the benefits of IP telephony without the big business price tag.
